Имена статей должны быть англоязычными?
Если честно, мне (а также многим википедистам) глубоко пофигу на адресную строку браузера. Браузеры и прочий софт, повёрнутый лицом к пользователи свободно экранируют и разэкранируют любые русские (и не очень) буквы. А ссылку на [[какой-нибудь термин]] ставить намного проще и логичнее, чем на [[some term|какой-нибудь термин]]. Все англоязычные термины переводить, конечно, не надо, но те из них, что прочно обосновались в русском языке — «сервер», «сообщение», — а также изначально русскоязычные типа «Алексей Щепин» должны быть на своих местах. // Сыр Российский 07:48, 21 November 2007 (CET)

- Не знаю, где там у тебя нечитаемые ссылки... Как раз-таки лиса, хоть в адресной строке всё по стандарту пишет, но в статусбаре при наведении на ссылку сворачивает процентики во вполне читаемые буквы и прочие символы. Или ты по вебу сёрфишь исключительно через wget+less?
Ладно, специально для тебя я не поленюсь и прослежу, чтобы каждая страница в ЯВики c кириллическим названием имела симлинк, то бишь, перенаправляющую страницу из чистого latin-1.

Про импотенцию русских названий и спецсимволов
Оказывается, что ссылка на первой странице не работает. Причем, работать перестала после вот такой чудесной правки. Обратиться к этой странице по его русскому имени нельзя, получается только через редирект с Xmpp-quick-start. По-моему это не дело. - Странно. Вроде у меня работало, когда я её переименовывал. Больше похоже на баг самой MediaWiki. Вопросительный знак в названии страницы присутствовать может, а ссылка обрабатывается некорректно. Не уверен, что всем потенциальным участникам приходится по нраву необходимость регистрации (да еще через форум). Какие мысли по поводу необходимости OpenID в Явики. Модуль для MediaWiki есть. Помимо чисто технических моментов сопряжения с уже установленным антиспамом остается вопрос, как защититься от спама. Наверное, уже появились боты, которые спамят авторизуясь через OpenID. Именование статей
- Изначально в качестве иерархического разделителя был использован символ двоеточия. Например,J2J:AdminGuide Но сейчас мне начинает казаться, что прямой слэш более понятен и очевиден (наверное, потому что это похоже на ЧПУ-URL). Кроме того, слэш отделяет т.н. подстраницы - http://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Subpages . Двоеточие же MW презназначено для отделения namespace от имени страницы, Talk:Bombus. Эти самые пространства имен можно добавлять вручную - http://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Manual:Namespace/ru. А слеши (как видно из ссылки приведеной ранее) используются для отделения версий статьи на других языках.

Думалось, что в каждую страницу, имеющую подстраницы вставлять

- Говорил. Но считаю правильным называть термины на английском языке, откуда они к нам и пришли. Это для того чтобы можно было найти по этому имени, а также узнавания этого самого номера тем, кто его не знает. И второй момент - страшные ссылки с энкодированными русскими символами. В википедии первая часть хотя бы решается за счет интервики. А вот ссылки на русские названия меня пугают. Но я с тобой согласен. Пока решения не вижу. Кстати, ты вроде сам не говорил, почему считаешь что статьи должны называться на русском. Я там еще фон сделал, мне кажется, что у блоков фоны должны быть.Leksey 14:22, 30 September 2010 (UTC)
- Про номера не понял. А с Emacsом ты завязывай. В современных браузерах процентное кодирование русских символов отлично скрывается. Я сам писал об этом в http://jawiki.ru/User:Cblp.su/Русскоязычные_названия_статей // Сыр Российский — 19:46, 30 September 2010 (UTC)
Английские версии статей
Было обсуждение (не помню где), как отделять страницы на других языках (у нас их немного) - сейчас это префикс ENG: и статья носит название Eng:J2J. Наверное надо закрепить этот способ в инструкции? В Ткаббервики вопрос решили посредством нескольких вики и интервики между ними, но нам этот вариант не годится. Также можно отдельный namespace завести для этих статей. Но смысла в нем нет, потому что вполне можно и категориями эти статьи обобщить. Leksey 14:11, 24 May 2010 (UTC)

- Именно так и использовать, например. Ну да, будут все языки в кучку свалены. В случае же с пространствами имён (настоящими или мнимыми, как сейчас) подстраницы будут для каждого языка свои, что я нахожу более разумным. // Сыр Российский — 17:40, 29 September 2010 (UTC)
- Я так не понял, за какой ты вариант. В Медиавики неймспейсы используются для другого выглядит это Manual:Interface/ru и Manual:Interface/Sidebar/ru Leksey 16:33, 30 September 2010 (UTC)
- Я за то, чтобы оставить мнимые пространства, а списки подстраниц составлять руками, а не генерить автоматом. Не так уж это и сложно — страниц не сотни, их состав меняется редко. // Сыр Российский — 19:50, 30 September 2010 (UTC)
